Water and Salt

Water and salt…  it’s not my fault
The ship didn’t heed when ordered to halt.
Now here we are, terribly far
From all that we need.  Weak from the assault,
Living and yet, hungry and wet,
Crash-landed alone, each creature a threat.
Strange and bizarre, alien star
I should not have known…  this trip I regret.
